Overview

Tax advice is only as good as the position it can defend.

Taxation is not a single filing at the end of the year. It runs through transactions, contracts, cross-border arrangements, payroll and pricing decisions — and each of those decisions creates a position that may later be examined.

Our taxation practice covers GST, customs, professional tax, income tax, international taxation and transfer pricing. The common thread is the same: understand the transaction, document the reasoning, and be prepared to defend the position before the authority that examines it.

What We Cover

Six tax workstreams, one standard of technical rigour.

Select a service to see scope, deliverable and how it applies to your business.

01 · Goods and Services Tax (GST)

GST compliance that holds up to departmental scrutiny.

GST rewards businesses that maintain clean records and disciplined reconciliations. Where those break down — mismatched input credits, classification errors, missed filings — the consequences surface as demands, interest and blocked credits.

We support registration, periodic returns, reconciliation, refunds and departmental proceedings, with a focus on keeping the working papers behind each return in a state that can be produced on notice.

  • GST registration, amendments and cancellation
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual return preparation and filing
  • GSTR-2B reconciliation and input credit review
  • Refund applications and export-related compliance
  • Notices, audits, assessments and appellate support

02 · Customs Duty

Import and export duty positions, classified and documented correctly.

Customs duty turns on classification, valuation and the applicable exemptions. A classification dispute can affect the duty on every subsequent consignment, not just the one under examination.

We advise on classification and valuation positions, support duty drawback and exemption claims, and assist in responding to show-cause notices and departmental proceedings.

  • Classification and valuation advisory for imports and exports
  • Exemption and notification applicability review
  • Duty drawback and refund claims
  • Support on show-cause notices and adjudication
  • Appellate and representation support

03 · Professional Tax

State-level professional tax, registered and remitted on time.

Professional tax is a state-level levy on professions, trades and employments. The rates, registration thresholds and return frequencies vary by state, and an employer's obligations include deduction and remittance in respect of employees.

We support registration, periodic returns, employee deductions and reconciliation, along with response to notices where filings or remittances are questioned.

  • PT registration and enrolment support
  • Periodic return preparation and filing
  • Employee deduction schedules and reconciliation
  • Multi-state applicability advisory
  • Notice response and rectification support

04 · Income Tax

Computation, filing and representation — with the reasoning documented.

Income tax work is not limited to filing returns. It includes planning transactions, computing income under the correct heads, maintaining the evidence behind deductions and claims, and being able to explain each position if it is questioned.

We support computation and filing for businesses and individuals, tax planning and structuring advisory, TDS compliance, and representation in assessment and appellate proceedings.

  • Income computation and return filing — corporates, firms and individuals
  • TDS/TCS compliance, returns and reconciliation
  • Tax planning and transaction structuring advisory
  • Advance tax computation and periodic review
  • Scrutiny, assessment and appellate representation

05 · International Taxation

Cross-border transactions, advised with the treaty position in view.

Cross-border arrangements bring withholding obligations, permanent establishment questions, treaty benefits and foreign tax credit considerations into a single transaction. Each requires a documented position.

We advise on withholding tax on payments to non-residents, treaty eligibility and documentation, foreign tax credit, and the exchange of information and reporting requirements that accompany cross-border activity.

  • Withholding tax advisory on payments to non-residents
  • Tax treaty eligibility and beneficial provisions
  • Foreign tax credit claims and documentation
  • Permanent establishment and attribution analysis
  • Advisory on outbound and inbound investment structures

06 · Transfer Pricing

Related-party transactions, priced and documented on an arm's length basis.

Transfer pricing requires that related-party transactions be priced consistently with what independent parties would agree. The obligation is not merely to apply a method, but to maintain the documentation that supports the position taken.

We support transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking studies, Form 3CEB reporting, and representation in transfer pricing assessments and appeals.

  • Transfer pricing policy design and review
  • Benchmarking studies and documentation
  • Form 3CEB preparation and filing
  • Master file and CbCR advisory where applicable
  • Assessment, appeal and APA-related support
